So, what's the point of having a sentient killing sword if it's actually really awful it's job? Also, what does Excalibur Umbra have that is so "Umbra"? The Harrow quest, as annoying as it was, was all about the void which for some reason applies birth control to sentients. A combination of operator and my gun killed several orders of magnitude faster. I would actually say that using that sword, and melee in general, is probably the worst possible way you could fight them. This shouldn't be a problem because I have a special sword that has does bonus damage to sentients. It throws a bunch of sentients at you right away. However, I tried to be a good sport and modded all of it up and jumped into the final mission in the quest. I was left kind of confused and honestly just preferring regular Excalibur more. I mean it's a mostly okay weapon, but it doesn't have great critical stats and it has a special critical mod. He is just like regular Excalibur except he is far more limited in build options due to the Umbra Polarity. Then I finally get to play as Umbra and mod him up. I also got stuck in an instant kill loop where Umbra would one shot kill my operator, cause me to respawn after that floating in energy load screen, kill me instantly, repeat. The tons of sentients and their presence was not really explained to any satisfactory degree. The other missions were buggy as heck and also gave me the same feeling as the Harrow quest. The shaky camera while trying that checkers game with mission objective "look at the instrument?" I don't know what they were going for but it didn't really work. The opening scene was neat and I like the Roman theme they had going with Ballas and the Orokin (cliche but effective.) The gameplay in the missions was pretty awful, though. I mean, I know this isn't a horror game and it was probably done just for variety, but it didn't even really contain that much lore. It was irritating because instead of being scary or atmospheric, I was just wanting the whole thing to be over so that I could move at normal speed. ![]() It seemed like they were going for horror, but mainly it was just running through levels with enemies that constantly put a slowing status effect on you. ![]() The Chains of Harrow quest was supremely annoying. I did both the Chains of Harrow and The Sacrifice quests last night. Unfortunately, I feel kind of disappointed by the experience. So, ever since I started playing Warframe I've really been looking forward to more story quests and also the Excalibur Umbra frame.
